Floor Cloth Workshop
Featuring designs from antique red work, The Musée Acadien will host a 3-hour workshop. You will be able to make your own entry way floor cloth with the help of artist, Maggie Schmidt.
You can enjoy a tour of the Museum and see an actual antique floor cloth, a collection of Red Work embroidered designs, and many other precious historical artifacts that are a part of the Museum’s collection.
Supplies will be provided as well as a prepared 24″ x 30″ canvas that has been primed, base painted and ready to paint. Copies of red work designs will be available to transfer to your floor cloth.
Workshop: $40. Materials $45.

Landscape as Muse…Accessing Your Creative Expression

Applying Renaissance Techniques to Landscape
taught by Roy Mandell
Join the artists at Galerie BeauCoop for five, 4 hr. studio days in which you will develop a work from the 21st century or the 17th century. Master artists Roy Mandell and Maggie Schmidt will guide you in your exploration.
We will also be scheduling a supper soirée where we can share our experiences and collectively reflect on the form our work is taking.
For those who are interested, we can arrange small trips to some of our exciting local museums in Pubnico and Yarmouth. We also recommend Waterwood Bed and Breakfast for scenic accommodations. Enjoy fine dining at Mackinnon-Cann, The Argyler, or The Hatfield House. Share pub time at Rudders or have a fresh fish fry at Wedgeport’s Tuna Wharf.
Fee for each workshop is $450.
Supplies can be provided by the studio for a small fee

A SKETCHING WE WILL GO…
If you are a writer traveling in a new landscape you may keep a journal about your experience. If your are artistically inclined visiting a new place on vacation, you might want to journal your experience in a sketch book.
We are pleased to announce a 3 hour workshop at Galerie BeauCoop’s Atelier. For just that purpose. We will provide sketchbook kits and exercises to give you the confidence to
keep a sketch book diary of your adventures while touring our beautiful province. Sit on the rocks at Peggy’s Cove, or find a cozy spot on one of Wedgeport’s two wharfs or sit at the waters edge on the Tusket river at The Butte de La Croix and make a diary of your trip in sketches. We can help you to learn to sketch comfortably with our workshop’s exercises.

A PAINTING WE WILL GO…
Join the artists Maggie Schmidt and Roy Mandell of Galerie BeauCoop for a wonderful two-day workshop in Wedgeport, Nova Scotia.
A field trip to gather photographs and sketches. We will spend time experiencing the beauty of the maritime landscape from the water with local skipper Lucien Le Blanc. Of Tusket Island Tours. Aboard his boat, you will tour the Tusket Islands. The trip will allow participants to gather visual information for artwork to be done the next day. We will be with you, to help you gather information.
A Lobster and fish chowder picnic lunch is available aboard the boat.
Galerie BeauCoop’s experienced artists will help you translate your sketches and photos into a painted work on paper that you can take with you as a memory of your journey on the Tusket River. Bring your own supplies or we will be provided supplies for those folks who need them.
$325. per person $50. extra for supplies if needed
Includes picnic meal on field trip and sketching and painting materials.
